There is no friendship without self-interest
We live in a world, where people are suffering from loneliness and relationship issues. We try to get associated with people who are of equal stature. I feel people need gratification, which must be accompanied by insane discussions. I recently became a victim of the previous statement! I had invited few friends over dinner. I had met them the previous night over a get-together in a wider forum. My invitation was flatly refused by a couple, since a specific person was unable to join. I don’t know, but I felt how weak we all have become mentally. One can’t meet an equally good friend, if the main entertainer is missing. Retrospectively, I think the invitation was plainly declined without giving much thought. I think the self-interest was entertainment without showing any courtesy to the guest whose intention was to invite host. But, then there is no friendship without self-interest.
